Julien WACQUEZ

Julien Wacquez is a sociologist specialized in the study of science fiction literature and its uses for scientific purposes. He has recently defended his PhD thesis, entitled "The Horizon of Planetary Possibilities. Dynamics and Shifting Boundaries Between Science and Science Fiction" at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS), Paris. He is currently a postdoc researcher at the labex les passes dans le present. His publications appeared in journals of anthropology of arts (Gradhiva) and comparative literature (Modern Language Notes). In 2019, he co-edited a special issue of the French journal Socio on the relationship between science and science fiction literature. Since 2014, he is editor-in-chief of the online magazine Angle Mort, which won the award of 'best European science-fiction magazine of the year' by the European Science Fiction Association in 2018.
