Scientific and technical director : Emmanuel Grimaud

Emmanuel Grimaud is an anthropologist, a research fellow at CNRS within the Laboratoire d'ethnologie et de sociologie comparative (LESC). He is the scientific and technical Director of the cluster Pasts in the Present since september 2017.

Cluster project leader : Ghislaine Glasson Deschaumes

Ghislaine Glasson Deschaumes has been active as the Head of Project of the Cluster of Excellence Pasts in the Present since 2012 and as the Director of the University Paris Nanterre Foundation since 2019. She is an associate member of the Institute for Social Sciences of Politics and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the International College of Philosophy. She was director of the Paris Nanterre University Foundation (2019-2021). 
She has cofounded and codirected the Scientific Interest Group (GIS) “Heritage Institutions and Intercultural Practices” (2008-2012), and the “Culture and Politics” programme at the Maison de l’Europe, Paris. She is the founder and director of the international journal of critical thought Transeuropéennes (1993-2014) and of its NGO, which has run major international cooperation programmes, such as “South-Eastern Europe Summer Universities”, “Women Activists Actions Across the Borders”, “Euromediterranean Cultural Workshops”, “Translating in the Mediterranean Region”.
Graduated from Lyon 2 University in French Literature, her research interests include cultural translation, language and translation politics, policies and practices in heritage institutions (museums, archives, libraries), and conditions for knowledge production and circulation, notably in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
She was appointed as Knight of the Order Arts and Letters.

Project assistant : Marina Egidi

Marina Egidi is an engineer at the University of Paris Nanterre. With a degree from the École du Louvre (Art History and Museum Studies) and from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas (Art Market and Cultural Heritage Law), she works as Project assistant for the cluster Pasts in the Present.
