Christophe Bonnet is a sociologist in Science and Technique of Physical and Sports Activities (STAPS). Graduated from Paris Nanterre University and holding double master's degree in Research (Social Organization of Sport) and Professional (Management of Sports Events and Leisure), he supported in 2020 a doctoral thesis entitled "A sport of value(s). A socio-economic analysis of the professionalization impact on communication strategies in French rugby".

His main works focus on professionalization and media coverage of sport processes as well as on themes relating to the expression and representations of masculinities forms in the sporting world, or even on the social, cultural and economic links between sports and alcohol consumption.

Working in the Social Sciences of Political Institute (ISP), Christophe Bonnet participates in the Labex "The pasts in the present: history, heritage, memory" as part of the DICOBIOSPOR project (Biographical Dictionary of the Sports Movement), directed by Olivier Le Noé and Julie Demeslay.
